With one optic blast and one swipe of adamantium claws, Cyclops and Wolverine make short work of a small number of Russian mobsters who’d been hiding out in New York. The mafia had been threatening to kill Colossus’s family unless he returned to work for them. It was Wolverine’s idea to “talk” to them for Colossus. He celebrates their victory by smoking his last cigar, having promised Jean he’d quit.

Upstate, Storm practices flying – by manipulating air currents to carry her – but, still rusty, crashes into a lake. She laughs it off and ignores her studies to make out with her tutor, and boyfriend, the Beast.

At the mansion, Iceman returns from a trip home, but Professor Xavier learns that Bobby has told an old girlfriend some top secret information regarding the X-Men. Xavier and Jean quickly decide that the only solution is to wipe the conversion from both Bobby and his girlfriend’s mind. Shortly afterward, the mansion is attacked by Weapon X, led by Colonel Wraith.

The Juggernaut and Sabretooth make quick work of most of the team while Nightcrawler and Rogue take out Cyclops and Iceman, who is surprisingly the last X-Man standing. Unfortunately for Colonel Wraith, their prime target – Wolverine – is nowhere to be found.
