An unknown blonde woman approaches and enters a diner. She notices Wolverine sitting alone in a booth, and apparently recognizes him as one of the X-men. After a failed attempt at conversation with him, the woman buys Wolverine’s lunch and leaves the restaurant. Once outside, the woman alerts someone that they’re good to proceed with the operation. Seconds later, Wolverine notices three mysterious vans parked across from the diner. Before he can react, he and the diner are riddled with bullets. With the shooting done, the vans peel away. The mysterious blonde checks inside the diner, only to find that Wolverine is gone.

Spiderman swings high above the city, fretting to himself about typical teenager problems (tests, money, dating, etc). Down in his basement, Peter finds a severely injured Wolverine. It seems Wolverine followed Peter home after a previous encounter between the two, and he needs to hide out there for the night and heal. Peter’s girlfriend MJ shows up, and faints at the sight of Logan.

Wolverine wakes up two days later; Peter and MJ have spent their free time looking after him. With Logan finally awake and healed, MJ leaves, and Wolverine prepares to leave as well. But from the basement window Wolverine sees the same three vans that were at the diner before the shooting; they are parked across the street from Peter’s house. Leaving the house suddenly became a whole lot harder…
