The Savage Land, four weeks ago. The ground is caving in and Cyclops has fallen, barely holding on to a ledge. Wolverine goes to save him, telling Kitty to leave. Waiting until she is gone, Wolverine grabs Cyclops’ arm and then lets him go, dropping him into the chasm. It has been one day and Cyclops is badly injured, lying at the bottom of the chasm pointlessly yelling Wolverine, as well as reminding himself that there is no such thing as a hopeless situation.

Austin, Texas, half a mile above a SHIELD intelligence station. Shadowcat sneaks into the station, trying to see if SHIELD knows any more than they do about Magneto’s citadel. Unfortunately it turns out they know even less than the X-Men do.

It’s Cyclops’ second day in the chasm and he is struggling to stay sane when he figures out why Wolverine tried to kill him. In downtown Los Angeles, Wolverine is fighting an American cell of Brotherhood extremists while Colossus crunches a car up into ball. This battle result is an X-Men victory.

Day twelve in the chasm and Cyclops is eating whatever he can get his hands on. Fourteen days later, Cyclops is going insane; he’s doing everything he can to keep himself occupied. A group of people approaches the caved in area and discover Cyclops.

Over San Diego, Beast is sitting on the wing of the Blackbird when Storm comes out to talk to him. Beast asks her whether she still loves him or not, since Xavier isn’t there to manipulate them. Storm responds that she never really stopped. Back at camp X-Factor, Xavier tries to comfort Nightcrawler who is distressed over how he gave away Moira MacTaggert’s location.

Day thirty-one of Cyclops’ ordeal: he has gotten a lucky break and now resides in the medical center of Magneto’s citadel, recovering.
