Reed, Sue, Ben, and Johnny attempt to fight off the killer bugs that have burst into the Baxter Building. Dr. Storm is locked in his office, unable to leave but desperately worried about his children; the government officials on hand are leaving the problem up to the four super-powered teens. Despite Ben’s super strength and Sue’s ability to effectively crush the bugs with her invisible force fields, they are still overwhelmed. Reed comes up with a plan that ends up with Johnny incinerating the rest of the bugs. It works, but leaves Johnny wiped out. Ben is able to pick up the tired Johnny, proving that his new rock body is comfortable with extremely hot temperatures.

As the building recovers from the attack, Reed examines one of the remaining but dysfunctional bugs. The make-up of the bug has him worried; he flashes back to a memory of a conversation between him and Victor Van Damme. Reed realizes in horror that the bug was made by Victor; the teens now know that Victor is alive and trying to kill them…
