On the surface of Acheron, the Fantastic Four take stock. They've survived the explosion of the spaceport, but are now trapped on an alien world. Johnny is unable to "flame on", Reed is wearing a type of handcuff he can't get off, and Tesseract is still unconscious. They decide they need to get to a hospital. Johnny complains that he's tasting strawberries, and Sue realizes that Dreamcatcher is traveling in his mind. She emerges and compliments Sue on their attack. As Reed finally frees himself from the handcuff, Dreamcatcher leads to way to the nearest medical facilities.

The local authorities find where the Fantastic Four crash-landed. Thanos contacts their leader and uses the body of the unit's lieutenant to transmit his likeness and deliver orders to the commander. They are to capture the aliens; Thanos is especially interested in Reed Richards.

The Fantastic Four arrive at the medical facility, which Ben notices has an unpleasant smell to it. Dreamcatcher decides to take Ben with her to search for transportation. He finally agrees, but asks her not to talk to him. Upon finding that the alternative is to have her enter his mind to communicate, he agrees that talking is fine. In the meantime, Sue and Reed realize that the "medical facility" is actually a torture chamber.

On the planet Halcyon, an old man calls upon an unnamed being, who appears in the form of a woman. She tells him that the balance between Acheron and Halcyon is tipping in Acheron's favor because a being named Reed Richards has appeared. If he speaks with Thanos, death will win out over life. The woman tells him to send the seed-soldiers who protect Halcyon to prevent Thanos and Reed from meeting.

On Acheron, Ben Grimm and Dreamcatcher find the energy signature of a transport. Ben needs to get through a group of guards; Dreamcatcher "clothes" him in the appearance of the troops' commanding officer, and he passes through without trouble. Inside the building, however, he discovers prisoners being taken for execution.

As Reed and Sue discuss Tesseract's problems, Ben walks up to the execution platform. He's told he's not allowed up there -- so he pulls the platform down instead, shattering it in the process.

After Sue finishes her work on Tesseract, he's finally stable, although the wires in his brain are still active. At that moment, Ben and Dreamcatcher break in through the wall. Ben admits that he's publically announced their presense by stopping a public execution. Dreamcatcher adds that the guards can track them and are on the way. As the group prepares to leave, Ben suddenly clutches his head, and a moment later, Thanos is speaking to everyone else through Ben's body.
