On Acheron, capitol of the Resurgence, the body of Thanos, ruler of the Resurance, is being paraded through the streets. Ronan, Thanos' son, asks how long his father has been dead, and is told it's been 49 days. Elsewhere in space, Reed seals the cabin of the Fantasticar against the vaccuum of space, and flies it into the open mouth of the large creature shown at the end of the last issue. The creature carries a set of buildings on its back, and Gallowglass strides down the corridor of one of them, aware that Threshold's party and the Fantastic Four have followed him from Earth. Tesseract tells him to kill all of them, and states his allegience to the empire. Gallowglass comments that the implants in Tesseract's brain aren't functioning properly yet; Tesseract is to be used as a secret weapon against his own people on Halcyon, and the implants are necessary to the plan. Gallowglass gives orders to the local commander to find and kill the intruders.

Inside the docking bay, Threshold's group is captured; Sue manages to throw a force field around her own ship, but both are shattered by Gallowglass. The Ravens attack. Ben Grimm beats them off, but a controlled explosion from Gallowglass takes him out of the fight. Threshold and Brute also attack, but are both defeated. The Ravens take down Johnny Storm. They are on the verge of capturing a defenseless Sue, but their personal grenades suddenly explode. Dreamcatcher explains to Sue that she can become different types of energy, including signals in the brain, or the activation command of a grenade. She also has a plan to save their friends.

On Acheron, a number of slaves and prisoners are brought to the rebirth chamber of Thanos. In order for him to rise again from death, others' lives must be sacrificed. Restored to life, Thanos is determined to find his new ally -- Reed Richards.

Reed is one of the last to fall to the Ravens and Gallowglass, but finally all of the rebels are down -- except Sue. Gallowglass laughs at her attemp to fight him, until he realizes she has a way to dissolve the shield that keeps him from creating explosions. Sue and Dreamcatcher allow a tiny portion of Gallowglass to touch regular matter, and the explosion blows most of the flying city and spaceport apart.
