Ben Grimm, Alicia Masters, Johnny Storm, and Johnny’s date Tara are having lunch at Casa Mels. Tara is actually a friend of Alicia’s. An out-of-control car that’s headed straight for a tanker truck interrupts the meal. Johnny ignites and flies to the rescue, saving the driver of the car while the truck explodes. While being thanked for his efforts, Johnny suddenly doubles over in pain.

At the Baxter Building, Professor Storm and Reed Richards discuss the zombie “guests” being held in a special cell. Storm is worried that they will break free and contaminate the Earth in the same way the zombie virus infected all of the superheroes on the zombies’ home world. Reed is trying to invent a way to send the zombies back without harming them or opening a portal that would allow more of their people through. Storm receives a call telling him of Johnny’s condition.

Johnny is brought to the Baxter Building’s hospital. He’s told that he has a parasite growing inside him. Professor Charles Xavier has been brought in; he informs everyone that the creature is from the N-Zone, and that it will “hatch” from Johnny’s body in seven days.

Susan Storm appeals to Crystal of the Inhumans for help; Crystal turns her down, but asks her to say good-bye to Johnny for her. In the meantime, Johnny is calling former girlfriends to say his farewells, and Reed appeals to his zombie counterpart for help. Zombie Reed refuses. Reed and Ben decide there’s only one place left to try – Latveria.

As Sue, Reed, and Ben arrive in Latveria, the zombies realize that the Fantastic Four are no longer in residence, and decide to make their move.
