The zombie Fantastic Four have materialized in Reed Richard’s lab. The zombie Torch tries to fry Sue, Johnny and Ben, but Sue holds off the flames while the other two escape into the corridor. She’s forced out of the room by her zombie counterpart. Ben seals the door, and they alert security. Zombie Reed manages to squeeze through the layers of door and grabs Ben, preparing to bite him. Sue uses her abilities to pop blood vessels in the zombie’s brain, knocking him out. Security arrives to take the invaders into custody; Sue warns them to wear protective gear to avoid contracting the disease.

On the zombie world, Wolverine is hunting and has picked up a scent. In the subway tunnels below, Magneto is arguing that the group needs to get to the Baxter Building to keep the zombies from crossing to the other Earth. One member of the group disagrees. Reed returns from his scouting the streets above – he’s brought medication for the diabetic , who points out that the transporter could be their way off this world to a safer one. As the group makes plans to travel to the Baxter Building, their hiding place is discovered by the zombies. Magneto throws a subway train at them and the uninfected group runs for it.

However, on the street above, the entire group of zombie superheroes closes in on them. Magneto’s team fights back. Suddenly the zombies all seem to go blind. Magneto asks Reed if it’s his doing, but Sue and the rest of the Fantastic Four appear and she takes credit for making everyone’s optic nerves invisible. Ben pounds several zombies and Johnny begins burning a path back to the Baxter Building.

The Hulk again arrives on the scene. Magneto prepares to take him on, but Ben stops him – he wants to see who would win in a Hulk vs. Thing battle. The fight quickly ends with the Hulk lying unconscious on a pile of rubble. Ben then throws a nearby truck through the wall of the Baxter Building to make an entrance. Magneto gathers them together and floats them up through the building on a metal disk.

The zombies prepare for their final attack. The Fantastic Four and Magneto’s party climb onto the transporter, but Magneto realizes he must stay behind. Someone has to destroy the teleporter pad once the others have crossed over, and he’s the only one who can do it. The rest of them escape, leaving him behind.

In Reed’s lab, Reed takes the blame for letting his scientific curiosity get the better of him and causing a near-disaster. He tells Professor Storm he’s ready to pack up and leave. Professor Storm says he’ll deal with Reed later, and that right now he needs to talk to his children about a surprising development. A woman steps past him and asks Johnny and Sue how they’ve been doing for the last 15 years. The stunned teens discover that they’re speaking with their mother.
