Nihil's dragon-ship and several smaller space vessels pass through the entry port from the N-Zone to Earth. Reed shuts down the portal, destroying two of the alien ships. Nihil's ship follows the shuttle to Earth's surface; the aliens struggle with the heat and gravity of this new planet. Aboard Awesome, the controls are out, and the best the Fantastic Four can hope for is a controlled crash. They are heading for Las Vegas at super speed.

Reed finally kills the engines. On the ground, General Ross is ordering officials to sound the air raid sirens normally reserved for announcing a nuclear attack. The shuttle screams down the main strip of Las Vegas, the alien ship close behind. Both come to a smashing halt outside the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. The crews all abandon ship. Reed, Sue and Ben go into battle against the aliens as the human inhabitants of Las Vegas watch. Suddenly the alien ship explodes.

Johnny stumbles out of the shuttle, apparently unharmed. He immediately "flames on" and begins firebombing the alien guards. Nihil manages to grab Reed by the throat and is about to bite him when Reed shoves something into Nihil's mouth. It's an explosive device, and when Nihil tries to pull it free, it detonates.

The battle over, Sue and Reed see that Johnny has recovered, and Reed has a theory about how Johnny's skin repaired itself. General Ross arrives by helicopter and begins chewing the Fantastic Four out for the situation, but Reed shows him a piece of alien technology, and Ross immediately changes his tune. Amidst the wreckage of a Las Vegas street, Reed comments that the Fantastic Four have just gone spectacularly public.
