The North Atlantic, 1945.
A group of U.S. paratroopers bicker aboard a plane as they fly to an unknown location. Among them, a young military photographer nicknamed Bucky and his friend, the American super soldier Captain America.
The plane stops in Iceland, Captain America is the first to jump from the plane, without a parachute, to the chagrin of the other and some jealous soldiers. Hundreds of other soldiers follow, parachuting into war behind their courageous leader. Upon landing they see a mammoth Nazi missile factory, and are attacked in a massive firefight. A U.S. airplane is shot down and slams into the factory, leaving a makeshift entrance. Captain America is unflinching as he barks orders to overtake the factory, and the troops run inside the massive building.
In an act of fear, the Nazi’s launch a large missile from the base and storm the troops, but Captain America is gone. The missile is moving at an unparalleled speed and on it, Captain America. Rising to the head, he knows this is his only chance to save America, and maybe the world. Throwing a grenade into the shell he leaps off into the air, leaving the missile to explode like some macabre firework, saving everyone on the ground.
Bucky finds Captain America’s helmet and a photo of a young woman and knows… Captain America is gone.
His body, ripped and torn costume, and debris land in Icelandic water of the Atlantic and sink into immortal legend.
