This issue begins with a flashback sequence of Silver's early life. She grew up as a very angry girl who took her frustrations out physically on other children. Her mother drank, and her father was absent most of the time. He finally contacted her when she was a teen, asking her to visit him as he was dying. He explained that the reason he had been absent so much was that he worked as a Nazi-hunter, finding war criminals who had managed to escape justice. After her father's death, Silver chose to take up his career, despite the warnings that sometimes she would have to take jobs she disliked to tide her over until she could continue on with her chosen work.
In the present, we find Silver Sable has delivered Spider-Man to Donald Roxxon, the head of Roxxon Corporation. Peter is appalled to discover that they've taken his mask off. Roxxon wants to know why Spider-Man has been saving his company from attacks. Peter replies that it's just because he was in the area, trying to do the right thing, and that he really had no ties to Roxxon or his corporation.
The Wild Pack tries to run Peter's prints, which sets off an alarm at the Triskelion. The technicians report it to General Nicholas Fury, who orders them to track the source of the scan. At Roxxon, Silver Sable realizes what is happening and smashes the scanner.
A second flashback sequence looks at Donald Roxxon's early life. His family has had wealth from at least three generations back, so Roxxon never had to work very hard at anything. Until his father died and left him the company; Roxxon suddenly realized that running a corporation was a lot of work, and that he'd have to make some very unpleasant decisions in order to succeed.
In the present, Roxxon insists that Silver Sable and the Wild Pack "finish" the job. As far as Silver is concerned, their part is done and they need to get out of the country. During the confusion, Peter frees himself.
An explosion shatters the window and blows the room apart. Silver manages to catch Donald Roxxon as he falls out over the street, but she loses her grip. Spider-Man swings in to grab Roxxon, then webs him to the side of the corporation's building and goes in search of the person who planted the explosive. As he confronts the Wild Pack, a second explosive is thrown, and then two more. Spider-Man deflects them, and finds himself face to face with a man in a winged green suit -- the Vulture.
