Silver Sable's Wild Pack has Chen on the roof across the street from Midtown High School, watching the media and security checks. Inside, a police officer has just asked Peter Parker to open his backpack, which of course contains his Spider-Man costume. Before the officers can open the bag, however, they're distracted by another student running through the halls in a Spider-Man outfit. The student rushes outside and reveals himself to the crowds and the press as Mark Raxton. He's trying to get some free publicity for his band. The police grab him and drag him away, leaving a relieved Peter to go about his business. He leaves the school and loses himself in the city. Finally, after debating with himself, he decides it's time to tell Aunt May his secret.
He walks into Aunt May's office and hands her his backpack. When she asks him what's wrong, his only reply is "Spider-man". He explains that Flash was kidnapped, that people suspect Spider-Man goes to Midtown High, and that their search led them to Peter. Misunderstanding, May launches into a rant about Spider-Man; she calls him a coward for hiding behind a mask. Then she reveals that she's been seeing a therapist, and that perhaps Peter should go to one as well.
Later Peter calls Kitty to discuss the situation. She reassures him that the time wasn't right to tell his aunt. In the middle of the conversation, Bobby Drake walks into Kitty's room and she orders him out. As Peter continues talking about the kidnapping, Kitty reaches through her door and punches Bobby, who's been listening outside. Peter decides to track down the identities of the kidnappers by talking to Flash Thompson. As Flash's father tries to negotiate a television movie deal, Flash goes upstairs to find Spider-Man hanging from his ceiling. Spider-Man webs Flash's mouth shut to keep him from calling for help, then asks him about the kidnapping. Unfortunately, they have to wait until the webbing dissolves....
Later, Spider-Man stands on a building near where the kidnapping occurred. His spider-sense goes off, and he thwarts an attack by one of the Wild Pack. Each of the Pack members attacks him in a different style: one with a taser, one with brass knuckles, and one with a fancy gun. Once he's webbed them all together, Silver Sable herself appears, explaining that someone has just paid them to arrange a meeting. Spider-Man promptly webs her up, too, then takes her cell phone. As he presses the buttons, the phone delivers an electric shock that knocks him out. The Wild Pack is set to deliver him to their employer, as soon as the webbing dissolves....
