Harry Osborn stands in Peter Parker's basement, holding the Spider-Man mask. Peter has just been told that Mary Jane Watson had once been Harry's girlfriend. Harry remarks that no one could possibly understand what he and Peter have been through, and that only each can understand the other. He hugs Peter and promises to help him, adding that Peter will help in return. Then he walks up the stairs and out of the basement.
In school on Monday, one of Peter's teachers gives the class some time to study for their test the next day. MJ writes Peter a note about making out at lunch, but he ignores her. She kicks him in the ankle and shows him a second note asking what's wrong. The teacher tells her to leave Peter alone.
MJ follows Peter to the school roof, where he's put on the costume. When she asks why he's angry, he asks when she was going to tell him she used to date Harry. MJ replies that they weren't really dating and that it wasn't a big deal. Peter says he tells her everything, but she's been keeping secrets. He's afraid that she's going to die because she knows his secret and keeps getting involved with his enemies. He tells her the Osborns are both nuts and to stay away from them. He adds that he should never had told MJ about his secret identity, and swings away.
Harry sees MJ outside the school and they talk about the fact that Peter now knows Harry and MJ were once involved. The conversation turns to Peter's home life; MJ comments that he's dealing with a lot of grief right now. Peter's upset that MJ hadn't told him about her relationship with Harry, while Peter tells MJ everything. Harry says that's not true, and asks if Peter told her that he killed Harry's father. MJ claims Peter would never do that, but Harry replies that Spider-Man would.
Elsewhere, a pair of teens are holding up a street vender when Spider-Man swings in to stop them. He hits one of them too hard and puts the teen's head through a car window. Spider-Man carries the teen to the hospital and tells the staff to call the police -- he'll be waiting outside.
When the police arrive, the same woman who was at the museum steps outside the hospital to talk to Spider-Man. She introduces herself as Captain Jeanne De Wolfe. Spider-Man offers to turn himself in for severely hurting the robber, but De Wolfe refuses to arrest him. The teen will be fine, she assures him. She hands him her card and walks away, suggesting over her shoulder that he might want to wash his costume to get rid of the hot dog smell.
Later, Peter walks into his new home and greets his aunt. She tells him MJ had stopped by and admitted that she and Peter were fighting. Also, Harry Osborn had called. Aunt May comments that she doesn't like him, the Osborns are both trouble. At that moment the phone rings. Aunt May answers; it's Harry. She tells him that Peter isn't home, but Peter takes the phone from her. Harry tells him it's time for them to help each other and to bring the costume. Peter comments to his aunt that he has to go out again.
