One week before the present day: Harry Osborn is having a flashback to the events on the White House lawn, when his father was taken down by SHIELD. Harry is brought out of his memories by the arrival of Nick Fury. Fury explains that Harry is going to be sent home, and that he's been hidden in a place in Colorado to keep him safe. Harry asks to see his father, but Fury refuses. SHIELD is looking for a way to turn Norman Osborn back into the man he was before he took the serum that made him the Green Goblin. Fury tells Harry that his father made some bad choices, and that Harry needs to move and pick up his life again. Fury has arranged for Harry to get everything his father had, which turns out to be worth over a hundred million dollars.
Six days before the present one: Harry is parked in a car outside his old school. He watches Peter and Mary Jane talking to a blond boy in a dark jacket and ski cap (Johnny Storm from USM #69). Johnny walks away; Peter and MJ appear to have become a couple in Harry's absence.
Five days before the present one: The Osborn family lawyers explain what Harry has inherited and what has been seized by SHIELD. Harry has a brief flashback to the fire that killed his mother, but quickly recovers and asks about his father's factories.
Four days previously: Harry and his grandfather stand on the site of the factory where the Oz formula was made. Harry remembers his father telling someone the place was off-limits to everyone, including Harry. One of the lawyers comments that Roxxon Oil has put a bid on this site, but Harry refuses to sell.
Three days previously: Harry receives a cell phone call that his caller ID can't identify. The caller tells him to come down stairs. When Harry steps outside the building, someone pulls up in a dark car and tells him to get in. Harry recognizes the driver as Shaw, a man who worked for Norman Osborn. He gets in the car and the two drive off. At first Harry asks if Shaw knows where Norman Osborn is. Shaw has no idea -- he was just supposed to wait until Harry was released and then find him. Harry comments that Shaw did Norman Osborn's dirty work; a vent in the Osborn house led from Norman's office to Harry's room, and Harry could hear everything.
Shaw was paid to show Harry something. He brings Harry to a field with two large doors set into the ground. Shaw tells Harry that his father had him in hypnotherapy for years, to block out things Norman Osborn didn't want him to remember until Harry was ready to deal with them. Harry denies the claim. Show utters the words, "Cellar door." Suddenly Harry remembers the night the Green Goblin had Spider-Man at his mercy in Norman Osborn's penthouse office. Then Harry sees the scene on the White House lawn where he confronted his father. This is followed by a whole string of memories.
Harry comes back to himself in the grass in front of the two doors. Shaw pushes a button, and the doors open into darkness.
