The New York Daily News is fascinated with the new hero, Spider-Man, and all J. Jonah Jameson has is a front page of Norman Osborn's house burning down. JJ has taken an interest in Spidey and wants to know everything about him. Jonah is now out to get Spider-Man.
In his basement, Peter has finally figured out his father’s formula for making a molecular adhesive and now has his webbing to swing with. Peter is playing with his new webs, when Aunt May calls out to him to get some sleep for school tomorrow. Peter just shrugs it off and continues working away. The next day in class, Peter is snoring loudly in class when finally, his teacher wakes him up. Peter jerks up and breaks another one of his desks. His teacher threatens to talk to his coach if he doesn’t shape up, but Peter says he has already quit the team.
As Peter and Mary Jane are talking in the hallway, Kong comes up to him and asks why he quit. Flash just comments that Peter is a worm, but Peter states that it just wasn't for him. Everyone just stops as they see Harry walking up the hall. Peter and Mary Jane walk up to him and ask what happened. As they are all still talking, a loud BOOM hits the school and everyone runs out. When everyone runs out, Harry screams, "HE'S COME FOR ME!!". As everyone talks away, Spider-Man springs out of nowhere and jumps into the building (Flashback to 10 minutes later - Peter runs off from the group inside the school and is debating if he should change in school or not. He decides to go outside the school so he won't be seen.)
As Spider-Man is roaming the school, he sees the large figure that has been bombing the school. The enormous monster begins throwing fireballs that Spidey easily dodges. Spider-Man is delivering blow after blow to the hulking beast but it doesn’t seem to affect him. He tries to get away but the hideous, goblin-like monster spears him through the wall and onto the front lawn. He grabs him again and leaps into the air. As Spider-Man looks up at him, all the monster says is "PPPPRRRRKKKKEERRR..."
