Spider-Man is lying outside a jewellery store, surrounded by the police and a bullet through his shoulder. The police grab Spider-Man and cuff him as Peter desperately tries to resist. He quickly kicks one of the officers away and runs up a nearby building while dodging the authorities’ bullets. He gets on top of the roof and uses his strength to escape the handcuffs. Suddenly the spotlight of a NYPD helicopter shines him upon. Spider-Man runs, holding his shoulder, while dodging a hellfire of bullets. He manages to escape the attack and takes refuge in a dumpster.

Mary Jane is sitting in her bed, writing in her diary. She is writing that she has nightmares after the bridge incident. Suddenly the phone rings, its Aunt May. She covers for Peter by saying that he is in the bathroom. After the call she is rung again and hears the helpless cries of Peter through the phone. Mary Jane takes a cab to an alleyway. She hears a noise and sees Peter with a bullet hole in his shoulder. Peter demands they don’t call Aunt May after what happened to Uncle Ben. Mary Jane gets Peter dressed into some new clothes and takes him to the hospital.

Peter walks through the entrance with blood coming out of his wound. He faints and collapses in one of the staff’s arms. The nearby nurses act attentively and bring him into a medical room as MJ looks on. Peter dazedly wakes up overhearing a conversation between the doctor and a police officer. The policeman pulls the curtains only to find Peter has disappeared. Mary Jane is sitting at the waiting room as an officer comes out and shouts if anyone has seen a patient run through here. Mary Jane quickly gets up and dashes out of the hospital. She meets up with Peter on a rooftop and they go home.

Aunt May is lying on the couch sleeping. She wakes up realising that Peter hasn’t come home yet. She runs up to is room only to find Peter lying asleep in his bed. She smiles, shuts the door, and quietly walks away. Peter quickly gets up in pain and turns on the television. It shows an interview with Sam Bullit who is saying that Spider-Man is a coward and a thief and will pay for what he has done.
