The issue starts at the Triskelion, which is currently situated five miles outside New York. Nick Fury is being updated about the Goblin incident. The moment Mary Jane is thrown of the bridge he orders for his troops to take a shot at Norman.

At the Queensboro Bridge, the Green Goblin is hailed upon by a series of helicopter gunfire. The Goblin regains his strength and generates a fireball. Spider-Man is looking over MJ who suddenly regains consciousness. Spider-Man sighs in relief and helps MJ up as the place where the Goblin is standing explodes. Spider-Man carries Mary Jane towards a taxi and tells here to go hide at the abandoned warehouse at Cruz and 3rd. The taxi driver, who is a Spider-Man fan, agrees to take her there. Back at the bridge, the Goblin throws fireballs at the helicopters that shield the attacks with plasma fields. Spider-Man suddenly jumps up and smashes the Goblin in the face. The Goblin gets up only to have Spider-Man kick him in the face from below. Spider-man beats the Goblin in the face while shouting how he will make sure no one else will get hurt. With one quick move, the Goblin throws Spider-Man off the bridge then is suddenly hailed by more bullets. Using his webs, Spider-Man gets to safety and chases after an escaping Goblin, heading for his home.

The Goblin smashes through the window of his home, slowly losing his powers. He reaches for a cabinet full of his special serum as Harry bursts through the door, only to gaze upon his father. The Goblin quickly uses the special program words ‘Cellar Door’ which knocks Harry unconscious. The Goblin overloads on continuous serums and transforms into a greater more powerful form. Suddenly Spider-Man bursts into the room and the Goblin lunges at his foe. A raging fight endures and Peter is sent through a glass shark tank, ripping up parts of his costume including his mask. The Goblin grabs Peter and starts strangling him as Harry wakes up.
