The issue starts with an invisible Nick Fury revealing himself with the push of a button on his utility belt. Nick explains to Peter that they know he is Spider-Man and that Norman is going to have Peter kill him. Peter asks why and Nick explains that the Oz formula was originally created by OsCorp for S.H.E.I.L.D. he then says that Norman got nowhere in progress and then they cut the ties between S.H.E.I.L.D. and OsCorp all together. This really ticked Norman off and the accident with Peter, creating Spider-Man, ticked him off even more causing him to enter a vicious cycle of delusions and revenge. Nick then explains that they cannot take in Norman until he does something wrong like attack Peter’s aunt. An argument occurs and eventually Peter gives in. Passing through the corridors of school he runs from a greeting Mary Jane and Harry.

Peter arrives home to find another limo outside his house. He reasons with Aunt May not to go over to Norman’s house and Aunt May agrees, apologizing to Norman’s personnel assistant. Peter, as Spider-Man, swings around the city thinking about making Osborn leave forever. He meets the Green Goblin on a rooftop nearby. The Goblin asks if Spider-Man will join him but Spidey retaliates with a series of lectures on how Norman is crazy and caused all these problems himself. The Goblin says that Spider-Man will learn responsibility and leaps off the building. Mary Jane arrives at Harry’s home that tells her that a car was sent from Peter. Suddenly the Goblin leaps down and grasps Mary Jane. Peter looks on in horror.
