It seems that the Goblin has now become more intelligent and advanced. As a calling Harry asks for his Dad to come out, the Green Goblin tells Peter that Harry has gone through hypnotic sessions with his therapists, making him change his views about his father and the Goblin being one. The Goblin injects himself with another serum and painfully transforms to his human self. Norman tells Peter that he now must work for him otherwise aunt May and Mary Jane will be punished. Norman then suggests he will beat Peter to the verge of death, let him heal, and then beat him to death. Norman puts on a bathroom robe and escorts Peter into the living room. As Peter enters the room, Harry produces a tape that he inserts into his VCR. The tape shows an exclusive interview with Norman Osborn. Norman states, that after the explosion he went into hiding. He stated that he believed it was sabotage from his rival in bioengineering, Justin Hammer. After Justin’s demise at the hands of Doctor Octopus, Norman stated he felt it was safe for him and his son to come out of hiding. As the tape runs, tension builds up in Peter and in one quick movement; Peter rushes out of the room, terrified.
Peter returns home were he bursts into Aunt May’s arms in fear of losing her. Later that night Peter is sitting in his basement when MJ calls. He Peter asks Mary Jane to come over since he is frightened. Suddenly peter hears knocking at the window and panics. Peter calms down as he realises the person is Gwen Stacy, who has nowhere else to go. Peter rushes up to Aunt May and tells her about Gwen. As the three of them are upstairs eating, Gwen’s father, George Stacy, enters the scene and thanks Aunt May for the nice hospitality.
The next day Peter tries to tell MJ about the Goblin incident. Gwen suddenly jumps on him in sheer gratefulness about the following night. As Peter is about to spill the beans he is called to classroom 222, where he meets the councillor from the last Goblin attack. The woman asks questions about Norman Osborn and if he threatened Peter. She then asks if he is aware of Peter’s secret identity. Peter, shocked and horrified, asks what is going on. The woman asks if her boss would like to take over. Suddenly an invisible figure decides to show himself as Peter looks on in amazement.
