A young woman, alone in her house, is exercising away when all of a sudden she hears a big crash. Going downstairs to investigate, she is confronted by a long, mechanical tentacle. At school, Kong has somehow managed to figure out Spider-Man's secret identity and is telling his friends, Flash Thompson and Liz Allen. Flash thinks it's preposterous that Peter Parker is Spider-Man and tells Kong to prove it. Kong races towards Peter and kicks him in the ass for a "10 pointer". Peter, desperately trying to hold on to his identity, acts as if that seriously hurt him and begins to shed tears. Gwen confronts Kong with a knife for what he has done, is stopped by the principal, and takin away to the office.
Back at the young woman's house, a police captain by the name of Arthur Stacy, receives a phone call about his daughter Gwen. He is upset by this and trys to reason with the principal, who is to stubborn to listen to reason. Finishing his phone call, he is confronted by Ben Urich about the crime scene. Arthur just ignores the questions and continues on is way. Along a street, a young thug is trying to get away after stealing a purse, but is stopped dead in his tracks by Spider-Man. After stopping the crook, the crowd around Spade just looks on in amazement. Just a this is happening, Spider-Man spots J.Jonah.Jameson in the crowd. He goes to confront him about all the bad press that he has been getting lately and just swings away, but not before webbing his feet to the ground.
Back at his office, Jonah is talking to Urich about his story for that day. Apparently, Otto Octavious, who had died in the OsCorp explosion, is alive and has escaped from a top-secret medical facility. Urich believes that he returned to his old house and murdered the woman. Jonah just discredits him and the story. After some convincing, Urich manages to convince Jonah to let him run the story, all while Peter Parker has been listening in.
