The issue opens with Peter and MJ sitted in his room. He's invited her over to tell her something important -the fact that he's Spider-Man. At first she bursts out laughing when he tells her, so to prove his point he climbs the walls, sticking to the ceiling as he looks down at a shocked MJ. He then explains to her the incident with the spider, and once it's all sunk in, she gets all excited and begs him to take her swinging around, but to no avail. After asking him why he hasn't told anyone, and why he specifically told her; he explains that those close to him wouldn't be safe if anyone discovered he was Spider-Man, and that the reason he told her was because she's his best friend. Which leads to them coming to terms with their feelings for each other, about to share their first kiss, only to be interupted by Aunt May. The issue ends with Peter trying to convince his Aunt they didn't do anything, and that he knows all about sex.
