Ultimate Cyclops Profile

Powers: Scott Summers is a mutant with the ability to project beams of ruby-colored concussive force from his eyes. The precise nature of the optic blasts is unknown, but it seems Cyclops' body metabolizes solar energy in the process of generating the beams. Unable to control the blasts, Cyclops prevents the energy from escaping by wearing ruby-quartz lenses -- the only substance able to diffuse his awesome power.

History: Scott Summers was Professor Charles Xavier's first recruit, and is the leader of the X-Men. Xavier took Cyclops in to his Institute for Gifted Children in Westchester County, New York, in order to train the young man in the use of his incredible power. Not much is known about his life prior to the X-Men, except that Xavier saved him from a lynch mob before bringing him to the Xavier Institute.

After the X-Men's botched mission in Croatia, (which resulted in the injury of Hank McCoy, AKA The Beast) Cyclops' faith in Xavier's dream was shaken, and he defected to Magneto's Brotherhood. While in the Savage Land, the secret sanctuary of The Brotherhood, Cyclops was witness to the brutal Sentinel massacre. Thankfully, he was able to contact the X-Men and warn them of the impending Sentinel seige on Washington, D.C. Unhappy with Magneto's actions, Cyclops returned to the X-Men and resumed his role as leader.
