History: Moira MacTaggert is the ex-wife of Charles Xavier. The two met while doing post-graduate work in genetics at Glasgow University. She was also the one that built the prototype to Cerebro. The day after Xavier left her to build a school for mutants with Magneto, their son, David's mutant gene became active.
Moira kept him in a holding cell for years to keep him from "jumping" into other people's bodies and warping reality, and began a life treating sick and ostracized mutants. One morning David escaped and began wrecking havoc. Even Moira knew that the only thing for Charles to do was to kill David, since he was responsible for the death of thousands. Though she knew that it was the right the to do, she was still devastated when Colossus finally crushed him with a car.
After Magneto was released, the X-Men and the known allies of the X-Men were all on the run, since they were supposed to have taken care of him, and those allies including Moira and her sick students. Nightcralwer was on the way to meet her at her hideout at the Glasgow Central Station, but he was caught by S.H.I.E.L.D., and gave up Moira's location.
