History: The older brother of Scott Summers, Alex turned down Xavier’s offer to join the X-Men, causing a rift between he and his younger sibling. He joined the President’s New Mutants team, a team led by Emma Frost that wanted better human-mutant relations but without having the burden of being tied to the X-Men. The team was assembled, and during their unveiling, they were attacked by a Sentinel and none of them could do much. Alex especially, who froze and seemingly just forgot how to use his powers. After the fiasco, his brother once again asked him to stay, but Alex seemed wary. Soon after he left with Emma Frost to Boston.
