Ultimate Storm Profile

Powers: Storm possesses the psionic ability to control weather over limited areas.

History: Using his Cerebro machine, Professor Xavier found Ororo Munroe in Athens, Texas, where she'd been stealing cars for a living. When she took a 1978 Mustang for a joy ride the police finally caught up with her. They pulled her over, but in an attempt to escape she used her abilities to create a lightning storm. Unfortunately, her control of her powers was limited, and she almost killed a group of children playing in a playground. Its assumed that the effort weakened her substantially and that the police were forced to subdue her.

Thats where the telepathic teen known as Marvel Girl comes in. Using her abilities Marvel Girl convinced the Athens authorities that she was actually an FBI agent with full credentials, and that she was sent to relieve them of the mutant. At first Storm thought she was another of Magneto's henchmen (apparently she had been contacted previously with an offer to join his Brotherhood), but Marvel Girl was there to offer her a place with Xavier's X-Men -- a team of mutants gathered to halt the undeniable war that was brewing between humans and mutants.

Ororo joined the team not only to try and help human and mutant relations, but to try to gain control of her powers. So far she has shown improvement, and is able to create ball lightning, which she used to destroy Sentinels during their attack on Washington, D.C. She has also learned to fly, and demonstrated this during a picnic with her new boyfriend -- Henry McCoy, aka The Beast.
