History: Growing up in Brooklyn, NY with Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, Bucky used to protect Steve from getting beaten up three times a week on their way home from Saint Mary's Youth Club. They both joined the army together, and Bucky became a war photographer while Steve went into the Super Soldier Program, and became Captain America. They went on many missions together during WWII, but their final mission together was in Iceland, 1945, where Steve had to destroy a launched missle, but was knocked unconcious as it exploded over the North Atlantic and was frozen in ice, unknownst to the rest of the world.

Bucky ended up marrying Steve fiancée, Gail, possibly as a favor to Steve, and they didn't meet him again until fifty-seven years later, when he was found and unfrozen.
