History: Daughter of the legendary General Ross, Betty Ross atteneded NYU where she was roommates with Janet VanDyne, now Janet Pym, who became the Ultimates member "Wasp". While roommates with her, she witnessed her boyfriend Hank Pym occasionally beat her, but never said anything. After transferring to Berkeley for her communications degree, she met Bruce Banner, who later became the Gray Goliath known as the Hulk. She was engadged to Banner, but she decided they needed a relationship-break, and left him.

After her father was killed in explosion caused by Weapon X director John Wraith and a brainwashed Professor X, she was hired as the Director of Communications by the new head of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury. After she went dining with Freddy Prinze, Jr., Banner decided that he couldn't let his dreams go up in smoke, so he became the Hulk once again after mixing the Hulk serum with Captain America's blood, giving the Ultimates something to fight. He came after Betty and Freddy, killing 300 people along the way.
