History: Police Captain Stacy was a great policeman from beginning to end, but his daughter, Gwen, was less law-abiding at times, even pulling a knife on a fellow student. Captain Stacy was on the scene when Uncle Ben's killer was having a standoff with the police and was heading the investigation of Doctor Octopus' murders.

After Gwen ran away to the Parker's, Stacy found her and seemingly befriended Peter's Aunt May. Even when he had to go to a police detectives conference in Atlantic City, NJ, he asked to leave Gwen in their care, since his wife had just recently left him.

The trip was his last though, and the man impersonating Spider-Man was their attacking and robbing an armored car. After his backpack was struck by a bullet, it began to smoke, and the impersanator threw it at some kid. Captain Stacy pushed the kid out of the way, and the bag landed on top of him, and exploded. He died a hero.
